Ranchito Milkyway
In a far away galaxy, the inhabitants of a strange planet have been separated so far from the land that they wouldn't recognize their food until it is cut up and put on their plate. Without that sacred knowledge, the power has been taken from the people. But there is hope! In that galaxy, there is a secret farm called Ranchito Milkyway. Ranchito Milkyway is a small organic vegetable farm focused on providing healthy vegetables to the local community but it takes it a step farther, and invites their customers to come to the farm each week and to build a relationship between the plants, the farmers, and the eaters. At the ranchito they use all organic practices, intensive interplanting, and no-till farming in an attempt to work with nature to grow food. Alyssa and Christian, the farmers of the Earth version of Ranchito Milkyway, hope to stick to those practices and values as we build our soil and our community. We farm 1/4 acre in Bonita where we run a vegetable CSA that includes seasonal gleaned fruit from the local area.
