Between October 2022 and September 2023, Foodshed Cooperative, San Diego Food System Alliance and San Diego County’s CalFresh Healthy Living team conducted research and brought together a select group of farmers, food system leaders and technical service providers to address the challenges facing our agricultural workforce. Our goal was to understand service gaps and discover opportunities to align our regional efforts to increase wages and quality of life for farmers and farmworkers. This initiative was supported by a grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture and the findings will be incorporated into San Diego Food Vision 2030.
