The Saturday Market is becoming, little by little, a place to build community- yes, where fresh local produce becomes the common factor that unifies one to another. The market opens at 9am and there are those who come in early because they know they’ll get to choose from the best selection of fresh veggies and fruits. Rica, who has been running the market since its Mobile days does a great job restocking regularly all the way to close time at 2pm but some of the seasonal staples will sell out way before that time.

The market also offers eggs, frozen goods like chicken, ground meat, and frozen berries, there are also other local vendors who offer their products every week from cut flowers to tea blends, granola and marmalades, and ready to eat food!

A sliding pricing scale for the produce has been of great help to make produce available to people of all the social tiers- the market members choose their price tear and can change it at any point, no questions asked. Members can also pay with EBT or CalFresh.
