PASS THE MIC, TAKE A STACK! PAPER BAG QUOTES FOR FOOD JUSTICE

Before we were farmers and before we were parents, we were each on our paths working in the best ways we could to make this world a more just place. Our paths crossed and our work overlapped and then we were friends. Nan biked, Rica sang, Ellee made media, Adriana interpreted and we all learned (and continue learning) with a whole lot of heart from the Zapatista movement (and lots of other social justice movements across time and space) how to work in our communities and in solidarity with others. As founding members of Foodshed, we still root our hearts in the social justice work that brought us together nearly 20 years ago! We continue standing in solidarity with movement builders. We work so that our community of farmers may grow strong and multiply, thus, increasing food security for everyone in our region. We work for food justice, so that good food is increasingly accessible to all of our neighbors. We work for climate justice so that our world can begin to restore its sacred balance.

Take a stack of our paper bags and do some writing for food justice. Coordinate with Rica pick up and return of the bags and (with all safety precautions in place!) we’ll put them into the rotation so that the food that nourishes our bodies arrives wrapped in messages that nourish our minds and hearts, re-energizing us as we work together for positive social change.
